Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, Ghana’s vice president is a renowned economist and currently heads the economic management team. He was deemed a savior when it comes to managing the finances of the country.
However, in recent times the economy seems to be in shambles and many are looking up to the vibrant second gentleman of the Land to revive it. Just yesterday, the honorable politician mounted the podium to address Ghanaians on the state of the economy.
He emphatically stated “A lot of people sometimes don’t even appreciate what the impact of the Ghana Card is. But if you gave me 1,000 interchanges and the Ghana Card, I’ll choose the Ghana Card because it has more impact on development.”
This statement has angered some Ghanaians including media personalities and Johnnie Hughes the morning show host has expressed how disappointed he is with the politician.
Johnnie questioned why the same person who told us that they will construct concrete roads is now telling us that 1 Ghana card is better than 1,000 interchanges. Looking at these sayings from the vice President, makes him feel pains in his heart looking at how people with solutions and better certificates and experiences which we hope for them to deliver now makes us feel hopeless.
“Ghana card can never in a billion years be better than infrastructure. We have not finished operationalizing it. How is it better than building roads and other infrastructure? Today is Friday Go to the mosque and ask for forgiveness,” he concluded.
