As the gallant men and women of the new patriotic party avail themselves to serve, the voting process for the National Delegates conference was supposed to have started at 9:00 according to the agenda for the program. The future of Ghana’s politics is critically dependent on the two main political parties: NPP and NDC and any activity to mar the electoral process will affect the Democratic gains of the country.
At the Accra sports stadium, security is tight with the various agencies present in their numbers to dispense their duty professionally. The delegates and party executives in their thousands trooped in to partake in the voting exercise and it was expected that all of the aspirants would be present at the required time.
However, things are not going to plan and some have read meanings into why the voting process hasn’t commenced. After 2:00 pm, the program hasn’t still started. Some of the aspirants have vented their anger and alleged some things are being done to favor others.
Honorable Daniel Nii Kwatei Titus Glover, a former member of Parliament for Tema East and a former minister of state is currently contesting the National organizer position. He has ‘warned’ on TV3 that the program which was delayed was really bad and will affect the smooth running of the exercise.
He asserted “the program was supposed to have been started at 9:00 am but check the time now, it is over 12:30 pm and it hasn’t started. Some of the delegates are being hoarded that’s why they are not at the stadium but they shouldn’t try.”
Asked about the whereabouts of the delegates he responded “ask John Boadu.”
