Joy News reporter, Benjamin Akakpo, has finally spitted some hot fire on the current administration. Benjamin Akakpo is known for his normally quiet and calm journalism where he just keeps a neutral ground for both political parties to speak. Benjamin Akakpo noted today that after he had that interview with KKD two days ago, he realized that the situation in the country has become very very serious.
According to him, after he listened to KKD, he decided not to be coiled into silence again. He stated boldly that never will he be silent and watch on as this government passes its ill onto the good people of Ghana. He wondered if the fault was that Ghanaians were voting this government into power. He stated boldly that he will not allow himself to be bullied by any government official since he is a citizen.
“What then I am working for? To live from hands to mouth? Oh, why? But this is what happens when an economy becomes rabbit and in fact, infects the people with violent physical diseases. And you think I have no right to be upset. When Kwasi Kyei Darkwa came on my show 2 days ago and spoke about how he was been persecuted for speaking the truth to power and how his father has been bombarded with calls and fear for his life, I realized that this was much worse than I had imagined.
If the wet leaves are burning, imagine what the dry ones like us are going through. But be silenced, we shall not. We shall not shut up. No muscle is big enough to make us pretend the ills this government is visiting on the people who have done no wrong but to vote them into power. Is that how they want to pay us back?
