The deceased were a forty-year-old mother and her two male children. The ages of the deceased children were seven(7) and nine(9).
The bodies of the deceased were burnt beyond recognition and, together with the police and the elders of the community, the bodies have been deposited in the morgue.
The Assemblyman of Ohwim electoral Area in the Ashanti region, Hon. Erastus Sad, said he went to the scene of the incident after he had the information through a phone call.
The Assembly member said, per the information available to him by the surviving daughter of the deceased, the fire engulfed the room of her mother and her younger siblings.
According to him, the daughter, in the early hours of Tuesday(today), discovered that her room had become very hot while asleep, so she woke up and verified the cause, and to her surprise, her mother’s room was engulfed in fire.
According to the assembly member, the daughter screamed for help and some residents came to their assistance.
He added that the Kumasi Metropolitan fire service was contacted and, within thirty minutes, they arrived on the scene to douse the fire.
But unfortunately, the Assembly member said, the mother and her two sons were discovered burnt beyond recognition.
Hon. Erastus added that the charred bodies of the deceased were quickly sent to the hospital morgue.
The cause of the fire is yet to be established by the fire office officials.
The Assembly member disclosed that the information available to him indicates that the deceased mother had been tempted by several fire outbreaks.
