The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the Ghana National Association of Teachers GNAT has disclosed that outstanding teachers who applied for Upgrading will be put on the scale by the end of September 2022.
Mr. Prosper Takyie the Ashanti Regional Chairman of GNAT in an interview on Wednesday, 28th July 2022 stated that, almost all applicants who aspire to be upgraded or promoted to their new ranks will be kept on scale by the end of September this year.
Speaking on “Angel in the morning”, a program hosted by Kumasi based FM he said that “by the end of September this year, almost all applicants to various grade will be placed on the rightful scale ( both upgrading and promotion) for senior and junior ranks.”
Teachers who has successfully completed their degree and others who have passed their promotion exams are yet to be upgraded. Some teachers application for upgrading goes as far back as 2016, 2017 ,2018 and 2019.
This has been a major problem in the teaching service that most staff especially those who has gone through sandwich and distance education are facing upon completion of their courses.
