A staffer at the Office of the Vice President, Krobea Kwabena Asante, has finally admitted what Ghanaians are seeing on the ground. Krobea Kwabena Asante revealed that he is hearing that Kennedy Agyapong might be second in the upcoming Presidential primaries. This is an indirect confirmation of the fact that Kennedy Agyapong will give tough competition to these two popular candidates. Initially, when Kennedy Agyapong announced his intentions to contest as President, everybody thought it was a joke and many predicted that he will not pull not more than 5 percent of the votes of the delegates.
However, Kennedy Agyapong for some time has been pulling some massive crowds and the NPP members have expressed their full support for his candidature. Krobea Kwabena Asante further argued that the position that will be more competitive is the position for 3rd or 2nd runner-up.
“A lot of people think Kennedy Agyapong will place 2nd in the race. So the winner, Bawumia, is known, and the runner-up, Kennedy Agyapong. The competition is in the 3rd position now.”, he explained.
This statement that was made by Krobea Kwabena Asante was meant to trigger the Alan camp into reacting. This is because we all know that the competition will be between Alan Kyeremanten and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and they will fight for the first and second positions. However, for Krobea to say that the position of third will be contested and heavily competitive, should mean that he has undermined the weight of Alan Kyeremanten in the next NPP primaries.
Truth be told, Kennedy Agaypong has the ability to win the upcoming primaries but he must know that numbers are deceptive. This is because people might follow and jeer him on just because they have seen a powerful person like himself. However, delegates might not consider him when it gets to the election period.
