The National Chairman for the National Democratic Congress, Ofosu Ampofo has dropped some revelations about himself and the kind of work he is doing for the NDC.
In an interview on Oyerepa TV this morning, Ofosu Ampofo clearly revealed that he is the saviour for the party. He added that he has worked hard for the party and has set several historical records in the party. He added that he has won a lot for the party and for that matter, he must not be changed. He believes in a philosophy which states that “We don’t change a winning team”.
He explained and revealed his tenure of office has seen an opposition(NDC) member becoming the speaker of Parliament in an NPP administration. He also revealed that several seats that were ‘designated’ only for the NPP have now been grabbed by the NDC.
“We have been able to form a hang parliament in our legislature. There is nothing like minority or majority. Under my tenure of office and with my team, we have been able to get a speaker who is from our side of the party. Several seats that we haven’t won before such as Wenchi, Okaikwe North, Tema East have all been won. So which saviour are you looking for again in the party if not me. The saviour is Samuel Ofosu Ampofo.”
“I believe that we don’t change winning teams. We all went to court and made it clear to them that we didn’t lose the elections so why will you change a winning team if they have never lost” he added.
He also added that he has given several opportunities to people that have enabled them rise from nowhere to somewhere. According to him, there is no one in the party like him who has led the NDC to glory, hence he will run for re-election to keep his position. He went on to say that no matter who challenges him, he will eventually win.
