VIDEO: NPP Govt Is Insensitive To The Plight Of Ghanaians – Haruna Iddrisu

The Minority Leader, Haruna Iddrisu has indicated that the governing New Patriotic Party NPP is insensitive to the plight of the people of Ghana in the country.

However, the Member of Parliament for Tamale Central further added that the pursuance of the New Patriotic Party NPP government for the approval of the Electronic Transactions Levy on Ghanaians shows that they are insensitive to the plight of Ghanaians.

The Minority Leader, Haruna Iddrisu speaking at a press briefing after the Parliamentary proceedings reiterated the insensitivity of President Nana Addo government and administration to the plight of the citizens and the country’s democracy as well.

“They are insensitive to the plight of the suffering Ghanaians, insensitive to public opinions, insensitive to legitimate concerns raised for the need to protect our digital economy and to consult more. Someone and a half decades ago the NDC was in government and had to introduce VAT. And the NPP party in opposition resorted to public actions including demonstrations of ‘KUMIPR3KO”, Haruna Iddrisu explained.

The Member of Parliament for Tamale Central, Haruna Iddrisu disclosed that the bill was redrawn by the former regimes simply because they have respect and care for Ghanaians in the country however the Minority in the opposition National Democratic Congress NDC has been ignored.

Furthermore, Haruna Iddrisu express his assurance of the Minority Caucus to fight against the implementation of the E-Levy which according to them will further increased the hardships and suffering of Ghanaians in the country.

He added that under no circumstances will they champion the proposed E-Levy further reiterating that, ” we are in it for a long call, it is no longer a matter for it to be discussed anywhere. We are not for it and we will not be for it”.

The ongoing debate in the controversial E-Levy in Parliament is noted to have created severe disagreement and confusion among the lawmakers accompanying with an exchange of physical blow, notably is the sports Minister who was awarded a ransom slap by one of his colleagues.

The debate is therefore noted to have been adjourned to January 2022 next year hopefully after the Christmas holiday period.
