Women are celebrated annually on the 8th Day March as sanctioned by the United Nations (UN) as International Women’s Day (IWD).
On this day, 8th of March, women are celebrated worldwide for their achievements both in Politics, Social Economy, culture and all the endeavors of a woman’s life globally.
The day is also set aside to raise awareness mostly domestic violence and gender equality for all. It is also used to support and Inspires woman worldwide.
March 8, 2021 is no exception as the world marked the day to celebrate women with the team “Achieving an Equal Future in a COVID-19 World” which seeks to celebrate women in the fight and the recovery of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Former Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister Hon. Elizabeth Agyeman affectionately called “People’s Mother” has Admonished men who suppresses the ambitions and plans of women who seeks to attain higher height in education, business, politics etc in society.
According to her (Hon. Elizabeth Agyeman) women suffers a lot of criticism, pressure, setbacks, insults, and sometimes ridiculed in the hands of men in the society anytime their won’t to attain higher height.
She said, most men especially husbands and societal leaders still beliefs women are solely created to take care of homes and always remain back seaters whiles others still have the nostalgic belief that women are for Kitchen and purposely child bearing.
Furthermore, she indicated that women are created equally like men so as the saying goes “ what men can do women can better” and therefore urging all men in the world especially Ghana to give equal opportunity to women in all sectors life to enable the world see more women in politics, business etc
Every woman has something special and extraordinary in her which when natured well can make the world a better place for men to live in. She added
