The opposition National Democratic Congress NDC Communications Team Member has said that the NDC party will do everything at all cost even with the shed of blood to uphold the democracy of Ghana.

According to the opposition National Democratic Congress NDC Communications Team Member, Alhaji Mohammed Nasiru the actions of the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Joseph Osei Owusu in parliament on the 20th of December 2021is tantamount to a coup in the country.

Furthermore, he made this statement in support of the Minority caucus in parliament to prevent Joseph Osei Owusu from partaking in the voting of the infamous Electronic Transaction Levy E-Levy whether it should be accepted under the certificate of urgency or not.

According to the Minority Caucus, the Joseph Osei Owusu popularly called Joe Wise is not supposed to be part of the voting on the E-Levy because he was presiding over the House at that moment and for that matter, he has not to warrant to be part of it.

This happens when the First Deputy Speaker of parliament tries to leave his seat in the House to join the voting process. The Minority immediately in opposition to the speaker’s actions conveyed to his seat to stop him.

The Majority, on the other hand, moved to face the Minority at the speaker’s seat to rescue the First Deputy Speaker of parliament resulting in the alleged unhealthy and unfortunate exchange of blows among themselves in the House.

This controversy in the House on the 20th December has sparked attention from social media users and Ghanaians in the country with a bustling amount of comments and reactions with many condemning the attitudes displayed by the Lawmakers in the House.

However, Alhaji Mohammed Nasiru, a team member of the opposition National Democratic Congress NDC Communication team speaking in an interview on Adom FM morning show on the Dwaso Nsem program praised the Minority for their spirit of the fight against the actions of Joseph Osei Owusu in parliament.

According to him, their conduct in parliament is against the interest of Ghanaians in the country.

“We will kill to protect democracy. Joe Osei Owusu whimsically and capriciously tried to circumvent the standing order of Parliament. He is a threat to Ghana’s democracy,” he fumed. We will defend the constitution of Ghana with the last fibre of our bodies,” He said.
