
One of the National Democratic Congress NDC Communication members in Kumasi, Gabriel Aga has been arrested as confirmed by the Ashanti Regional Police Command.
According to reports, the suspect was arrested at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi during the Akwasidae Festival Celebration in an attempt to defraud the Chief Executive Officer of the O. A transport Mr. Opoku Agyemang.
However, reports emanating from Starr News agency reveals that Gabriel Aga has already gained an amount of Fifty Thousand Ghana Cedis 50,000 GHS from the CEO of O.A transport union Mr Opoku Agyemang further demanding an additional Hundred Thousand Ghana Cedis 100,000.
According to the report, the National Democratic Congress NDC Communication team member in Kumasi, Gabriel Aga through a phone call identify himself as the former president of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama asking for some financial assistance for a Medical trip outside the country from Mr Opoku Agyemang.
However, the businessman Mr Opoku Agyemang without a second thought immediately released the cash to Gabriel Aga with his intention he was the former of President Mahama.
The businessman on that note did not hear any info again from the phone caller who deemed himself as John Dramani Mahama until a few months later, he received the same phone call again from the suspect who demanded additional money worth an amount of Hundred Thousand Ghana Cedis 100,00.
The Chief Executive Officer of the O.A transport Opoku Agyemang confesses that Gabriel Aga through the Phone call pledged to make him a big businessman if the opposition National Democratic Congress NDC win power in 2024.
Mr Opoku Agyemang therefore on his part requested that they meet at the Akwasidae Festival Celebration for the additional money.
Therefore, what lead to the arrest was when the businessman quest to meet with the former president proved unsuccessful hence the prompt for the arrest.
