Popular Pastor Caught At Airport Trafficking Cocaine; Picked Up By Police -DETAILS
A popular pastor, identified as Desmond Onyi Onuaho, was arrested at the Victoria Falls International airport for drugs trafficking.
According to reports, the Victoria Falls Bureau of Drugs and Narcotics received information that pastor Desmond flew to Victoria Falls from Brazil via Addis Ababa, Ethiopia with a Nigerian passport number B50060514.
The team of investigators went to Victoria Falls International Airport where they obtained a passenger list for the arriving plane and confirmed that Pastor Desmond was on the list.
Investigators saw him go through the entire check-in process. The pastor presented a Ghanaian passport with the number G0559957 at check-in, he was immediately arrested and taken to Victoria Falls Police Station.
An examination revealed a white gel wrapped in cello tape in the lining of hats and jackets in his luggage. The pastor was later arrested and sent to court when a preliminary drug test was carried out and the results came back positive for cocaine with the value of $126,752,000.
However, Pastor Desmond dismissed the charges in court, saying one of his church members asked him to drop the bag off in Victoria Falls, but he never found out what was actually inside the brief case. He also said he went to Bulawayo Zimbabwe to pay his mother-in-law Lobola, one of his congregants approached him and gave him this briefcase to take to a member of his church, but he knows nothing about the drugs.
