PHOTOS: GNAT Appluads President Nana Akufo Addo For One Teacher One Laptop Initiative

The Ghana National Association of Teachers GNAT have allegedly expressed their gladness to the one teacher one laptop initiative and for that commended President Nana Akufo Addo for such an important initiative.

However,  Mrs Philippa Larsen, the National President for the Ghana National Association of Teachers GNAT speaking at the 6th Quadrennial National Delegates Conference of the Ghana National Association of Teachers GNAT at Kumasi in the Ashanti Region indicated that he is glad for the president of Ghana Nana Akufo Addo for supplying a customise laptops the teachers in the country.

“Your excellency, I wish to commend you and your government for supplying customized laptops to teachers. We are grateful and wish to take this opportunity to remind the Minister of Education of other related issues that we had lengthy discussions on. We believe this is going to be done to ensure peace and tranquillity on the educational front”, he said.

Meanwhile, President Nana Akufo Addo while giving a speech at the occasion pledged to address issues about concerns raised by the Teachers over the One Teacher One Laptop program.

The One Teacher One Laptop initiative was officially launched by the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

However, the Vice President during the launch presented a total of 350,000 laptops as part of government pledges to equip the Teachers in Ghana with the requisite skills needed to adequately prepare the next generation for the Fourth Industrial Revolution in the country.

The One Teacher One Laptop Initiative was therefore launched at the St Mary’s Senior High School in Accra on the 3rd of September 2021 where the Vice president, Bawumia assisted by the Minister for Education Hon Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum and the Director-General of Ghana Education Service, Prof Kwasi Opoku Amankwa plus that of the leaders of the Teachers were the first laptops were handed over to them under the One Teacher One Laptop Initiative.
