The Oti Region police command has arrested a man for his alleged involvement in the killing of one man and injuring six persons at Alhaji Bench, a suburb of Nkwanta in the Oti Region.
According to the police, the suspect, John Nana Sei was apprehended from his hideout in the Nkwanta township.
This is contained in a press release issued by the Oti Regional Police Command dated 3rd October, 2022 and sighted by mylifeguideonline.com.
Meanwhile, two other suspects, Cee Dollar, Nyinfor with other yet to be identified persons are on the run.
The injured are currently on admission responding treatment at the St. Joseph’s Hospital and the Nkwanta Government Hospital.
However, the police command further says the body of the deceased has been deposited at the Nkwanta Government Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy.

MAN ARRESTED OVER COMMUNAL CLASH AT ALHAJI BENCH IN THE NKWANTA SOUTH DISTRICT, OTI REGION.
The statement reads,”Following a communal clash on 29th September, 2022 at Alhaji Bench, a suburb of Nkwanta in the Nkwanta South in the Oti Region, the police have arrested a man for his alleged role in the killing of one man and six others now on admission receiving treatment.
2. Suspect, John Nana Sei was arrested from his hideout in the Nkwanta Township.
3. Preliminary investigation revealed that, suspect John Nana Sei together with Cee Dollar, Nyinfor, Osei and some yet to be identified persons currently on the run armed with offensive weapons including guns allegedly fired indiscriminately into the area and in the process, killed the deceased and wounded six others.
4. The injured victims are currently on admission receiving treatment at the St. Joseph’s Hospital and the Nkwanta Municipal Government Hospital while the body of the deceased has been deposited at same hospital for preservation and autopsy.
5. Suspect John Nana Sei will be put before the court on 3/10/2022 to face justice. However, intelligence team have been deployed to arrest the other suspects to face the full rigorous of the law.
6. The Oti Regional Police Commander has visited the bereaved family and also the injured at the hospital and extended condolence and well wishes of the police Administration. The command, however, appeals for calm while the investigation continues to bring all the culprits to face the law”.
