All is set, for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), to go for their Annual National Delegate Conference 2022, for the election of the party’s national leaders.
The conference, which is scheduled to be held from Friday 15 July, to Sunday 17 July 2022, will be held at the Accra Sports Stadium, in the Greater Accra Region.
With some few days to the much awaited contest, some latest information emerging, reveals that, the chairmanship race will be a real ‘clash of the titans’.
The current information reported by graphic.com, reveals that, some “Three stalwarts of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Stephen Ayesu Ntim, George Kwabena Abankwah-Yeboah and Stephen Asamoah Boateng – have emerged as the front runners in the race for the party’s National Chairman”.
Graphic.com further stated, that “the other four contestants – Prof. Christopher Ameyaw-Akumfi, Akwasi Osei-Adjei, Sammy Crabbe and Gifty Asantewa Ayeh, popularly known as Daavi Ama, are not leaving anything to chance and could spring a surprise in view of the complexity of such elections”.
It again revealed that, one of the party bigwig, who wanted to remain anonymous said that, “Fear delegates, anything can happen on the D-day, so do not be surprised when another candidate outside the top three emerges as the winner”.
The information from graphic.com added that, “Six thousand, seven hundred and thirty delegates, are spoilt for choice in the national chairmanship race”. Other executive positions to be hotly contested in the three-day conference, are the First and Second Vice Chairpersons, General Secretary, Treasurer, National Organizer, Women Organizer, Youth Organizer and Nasara Co-ordinator”.
Forty-six aspirants have been cleared and they have been criss-crossing the country to share their vision for the party with delegates. They have presented themselves as the best to “break the 8”, graphic.com revealed.
