Social media is on fire as a result of an ongoing trade of words between Koku Anyidoho, a former Deputy General Secretary of the NDC and some members of the NDC. This scuffle started when Samuel Atta Mills in a presser told the media that Koku with the help of an NGO, Coastal development Authority have broken the tomb of Atta Mills and taken the body .

Koku in response said it was just a renovation plan to beautify the tomb after the NDC under John Mahama let the place to rot. On Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen today, Wednesday, July 20, 2022, Koku Anyidoho wept during an interview with Osei Bonsu. He noted that he has done no crime to warrant insults from some NDC figures. He cited Samuel Atta Mills for neglecting his brother’s tomb. In a sharp rebuttal on phone Nii Lante Vanderpuye, also blasted Koku for using the name of Atta Mills for his own benefit. Nii Lante mentioned that he introduced Koku to Atta Mills.

Speaking for the NDC, the Odododiodio MP stated that the NDC will also have a programme at the tomb grounds of Atta Mills on Sunday afternoon. He maintained that no one can stop them from laying wreaths at the tomb. Nii Lante questioned who Koku was to be demanding for the autopsy of the late Atta Mills. Nii mentioned that Koku isn’t a family member of the Mills family and so had no right. He wondered if he, Nii Lante can equally demand for the autopsy of Koku’s daughter. Koku lost his 8-year old daughter in a ghastly accident in 2020.

“I was enjoying my broadcasting but Atta Mills brought me into the NDC. I need to protect his legacy. Why is Koku the one to ask for autopsy? Is he a family member? Can I also ask Koku to give me the autopsy of his daughter? If Koku thinks he has entitlement to the name of Atta Mills, then those of him who brought him to Atta Mills will let him know that we don’t know him. Who is Koku?” Nii Lante said.

The newly renovated Asomdwee Park is expected to be inaugurated on Sunday, July 24, 2022. It will be exactly 10 years since the former president died.
