Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo Sworn-In As The New President-elect For Ghana

Today, 7th January 2021, Akufo Addo has been sworn-in as the president of the Republic of Ghana for the second term.

Akufo Addo after Ghanaians went to the polls on 7th December 2020 was declared by the Electoral Commission as the President-elect on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party.

This was the second time Akufo Addo won elections over the National Democratic Congress’ Flagbearer John Dramani Mahama.

The 2020 elections were met with lots of uprisings, as many were shot dead during the time of collations of results.

However, the Speaker who was elected earlier today, thus Hon. Alban Bagbin from the biggest opposition party the NDC after dramatic and chaotic happenings in parliament led the inaugural ceremony.

Also, the Chief Justice Anim Yeboah was called upon to swear in the Vice-president Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and President Akufo Addo respectively.

After the necessary procedures were observed the President, Akufo Addo was made to give his speech.

The occasion indeed brought presidents, Head states and representatives of countries around the world to witness it.
