2024 parliamentary hopeful of the National Democratic Congress(NDC), Mr. Kenneth Bagyisan Gyimah affectionately called Abedi has likened the current situation in the National Democratic Congress(NDC) in the Krachi West constituency to that of a patient who is in a critical condition and has been admitted at the emergency ward.
” Currently, the Krachi West NDC is on admission thus at the emergency ward which needs to saved”, he noted.
He made these comments in an interview with GBC Krachi Radio after he filed his nomination forms on Monday, March 20th, 2023 at the party’s constituency office.
Mr. Gyimah explained, previously when you look at the parliamentary voting partner of the NDC in the Krachi West Constituency, you would realize that the NDC has always won the parliamentary seat with great margin or a landslide victory but unfortunately the 2020 elections have shown that gradually the NDC is likely to lose the parliamentary seat to the NPP in Krachi West constituency.
” Previously, the NDC could win the parliamentary elections with an overwhelming votes thus with a difference of over 1000s but unfortunately when you look at the 2020 elections, although the NDC won alright, but the difference between the NDC candidate and the NPP candidate was just 200 and something, which is so alarming and that if care not taken the NPP may capture the parliamentary seat in Krachi West”, he expressed.
When asked whether or not he may be taken out of the race, I am more than qualified because when I looked through my documents I have met all the requirements spelt out by the party regarding the elections and I think I can seal through the process, he replied.
He indicated, that he is not the only aspirant coming up for the parliamentary contest but he’s also aware that they are other four aspirants who have also laced their boots for the contest namely, Helen Adjoa Ntoso( incumbent MP), Nyamah Michael, Ndemele Magdalene(Baby Understanding) and Esther Asetenah(BK Esther).
Mr. Gyimah noted that, prior to the 2020 elections our mother( Hon Helen Adjoa Ntoso) said that her last elections will be the 2020 elections but he’s told she is contesting again.
He was optimistic that victory will be his portion.
Mr. Gyimah was accompanied by former DCE, Moses Kwame Ponyeh, Hon. Alexander Ndemoyefre among others.
