There is information going on now among the general populace, about the Ghana Card registration exercise by NIA and rumors have it that the EC will compile a new register before the 2024 elections and only those with the Ghana Card will be allowed to register and vote in the general election.
Captain Smart has this morning indicated that ongoing deliberations at the NPP party headquarters to make the Ghana card a mandatory requirement to give the party an advantage over the opposition is a recipe for disaster. Any arrangements made to favor the ruling government and to suppress votes in the stronghold of the opposition will not augur well for the peace of the country.
Speaking at the just-ended delegates conference, the journalist who still claims to be a strong card-bearing member of the NPP posited that, the surprises which occurred concerning the winners are the same is what will happen in 2023. The country currently is in a mess and the finance minister must resign to save the government from going to the opposition.
“There is 89% that this government will go to opposition and the reason why we are not delivering on our promises is because of Ghana card. Ghana card cannot win us the election if the masses are unwilling to vote for us. No amount of intimidation from the police or military can help us win,” he opined.
In conclusion, his revelation indicated that about 70% of NDC delegates in the central region and some parts of the North are without the Ghana card. Regions tilting towards the NDC don’t have it and there will be ‘chaos.’
