A trade Union Association calling itself Welders Association of Ghana has threatened to organize a massive demonstration and a sit down strike against the government and Wholesalers over what they describe as hikes in the materials for their work.
According to concern members of the association, about six years ago materials they use to buy now cost almost triple of the previous price and it a huge worry. They said that, the situation has compelled them to make huge estimate for their clients they do their jobs but clients have been refusing to come with their businesses due to hikes in material.
Some Concern Members of the association in Kasoa registering their plight to Obaatanpa News indicated that, what has been their worst worry is that the prices of their materials in Kasoa is unbearable and shifting the blame on the wholesalers in Kasoa.
According to them, the same material which cost very huge in Kasoa cost less in other parts of the country. They cited this situation is negatively affecting their businesses and hence calling for swift government’s intervention.
They further stressed that, failure on the side of the government to intervene in addressing the hikes in prices of their materials will compel them to in the first place organized a massive demonstration against the government and second embark on indefinite sit-down strike.
