
The sad news coming in has it that a 25-year-old Benya Akromah has stabbed his younger brother, Emmanuel Akromah, 18, to death at Essaman, near Nkotompo, a suburb of Sekondi, in the West Region.
The shocking incident happened as a result of a usual brotherly quarrel often experienced between the two.
The news comes as a total dismay to the residents as it appeared unusual to them, thus for the first time such occurred.
Oliva Ewurabena Adiku, the Deputy Superintendent of police (DSP), Head of Public Affairs at Western Regional Police Commandment told the Ghana News Agency on Thursday evening at approximately 11.50 a.m. that Sekondi Police had received a complaint from the deceased’s mother Esi Kakraba.
She reported that her two sons went to fight Essaman for about 1900 hours, with the older brother slashed the younger’s throat with a sharp object.
According to her, the deceased was rushed to the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital (ENRH) and admitted for treatment, but died a few hours later.
The deceased’s body has been deposited at Takoradi Hospital Mortuary for preservation and autopsy, while police investigations continue.
