All over the world, the major source of revenue for the development of any country emanates from the taxes of their people, especially, the public sector workers without exception other reputable privately owned organisations.
Thus, the good infrastructure like roads, schools, hospitals, improvement of the living standards of the people takes their roots from the revenue generated from tax payers.
Despite the fact that Ghanaian teachers constitutes large portion of the public sector workers, whose taxes forms part of government revenue, there is a high tendency of teachers to be exempted from the duties of tax payment.
Many opinions groups, not excluding the writer, have taken a keen look into the many valuable services rendered by teachers, who are the foundation builders to any human resources potentials.
However, due to the high rate of taxation on their basic salary, they eventually end up taking a meagre net salary making it difficult to cope with their current situations.
