JUST IN! Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu Has Failed As Majority Leader — NDC MP

The Member of Parliament for Banda Constituency, Ahmed Ibrahim have said that the Majority Leader of the incumbent New Patriotic Party NPP has failed the members of Parliament in the country.

According to Ahmed Ibrahim, the Majority Leader needs to be in constant touch with the Parliament of Ghana and likewise is the Deputy Speaker who also needs to be in constant touch with Parliament.

He further disclosed that the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin at times when he sits in Parliament hands over to the Deputy Speaker which he randomly did so yesterday.

However, Member of Parliament for Banda Constituency, Ahmed Ibrahim reacting to the commotion and confusion emanating from the Parliament House with regards to the vote in the House to decide whether the Electronic Transactions Levy E-Levy should be accepted under the certificate of urgency or not questioned the whereabouts of the Majority Leader yesterday during the proceedings.

“Yesterday, we were at the conclave and where was the Majority Leader? We in the Minority were here at 9 am and where was the Majority Leader? You have brought your budget to parliament, you have brought your financial document to Parliament but you left all these and went to Kumasi that you were going to do political party meeting, and as a result of that, you were unable to return on time for business to proceed. The speaker you are complaining against was waiting for you”, he explained.

The Member of Parliament for Banda Constituency, Ahmed Ibrahim made this statement in an interview on TV3 on the 21st of December 2021.

Meanwhile, the Majority Leader, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu have revealed yesterday after the free for the fight for all members in the Parliament House that, the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin is not answering nor responding to his calls and messages on the 20th of December 2021 after absenting himself.

Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu added that the Speaker of Parliament was nowhere to be found yesterday in Parliament when they had intended to vote for the passage of the controversial infamous E-Levy bill in the country.

“I call him a couple of times but I couldn’t reach him and I sent him a message including WhatsApp message but I have not had any response from him”, he said.
