The Ashanti Regional Chairman for NPP, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi has openly campaigned for Dr. Bawumia despite the appeal by JFK for executives to desist from that.
In a video currently going viral, Chairman Wontumi is seen addressing party supporters. He told them that the party belongs to them, because they are the grassroot.
If Polling station members, Coordinators and Constituency Executives are saying that they want Dr. Mahmud Bawumia, to be the next president of Ghana, then whom am I to say no?
According to Chairman Wontumi, the executives and regional personnels who voted him to become the regional chairman, asked him to support Dr. Bawumia to become the party flag bearer.

Justin Frimpong Kodua, Newly elected General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), said he will never openly endorse any candidate seeking to represent the party as flag bearer of parliamentary candidate. He made this assertion on 30th July 2022 at the NPP 30th anniversary.
He also urged all party executives not to openly support any member seeking Flag bearer in the party. He also urged all national executives not to engage in such behaviour for the sake of the party’s unity.
Should The General Secretary Come Out And Condemn It?
Will JFK let the action of Chairman Wontumi slides. Will he Prove that you he is the General Secretary of NPP. Has campaign started? Is this fair treatment against other POTENTIAL candidates?
If the Chairman is going by his words then he should openly condemned it.
