The emerging news available bares that all is not well with Captain Smart as Court decides his fate in the suit involving a former minister.
According to report, the former Minister of Environment, Science and Technology, Professor Frimpong Boateng has won a defamation suit against Blessed Godsbrain popularly known as Captain Smart.
The former chairman of the Inter-Ministerial Committee against Illegal Mining (IMCIM) has been awarded GHC1million in damages against Captain Smart, a broadcast journalist.
Professor Frimpong Boateng in February this year initiated legal action at the Accra High Court against a Colorado-based Ghanaian engineering student, Solomon K. A., and Captain Smart for defamation
The defamatory statements were allegedly published on a WhatsApp platform “Kill Corruption Now” in which Captain Smart is the administrator.
The plaintiff argued that various defamatory statements that were published by the defendants gravely damaged his reputation and lowered his reputation in the eyes of the right-thinking members of the public.
He averred that in the said defamatory statements, he was described as “greedy” and accused of having involved himself in illegal mining between March 2018 and February 2019.
