Dome Kwabenya Member of Parliament and Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Sarah Adwoa Safo, has finally explained her long absence from Parliament to Ghanaians.
Safo has been domiciled in the United States for over a year now, dealing with God knows what and refused to return to Ghana for her duties.
Her party has been complaining over her absence whilst Ghanaians wonder why no action has been taken against her.
Meanwhile, she gets paid her hefty salary and allowances every single month whilst she hasn’t worked a day in over a year.
For the first time since the whole brouhaha started, Safo has come out to give her side of the story.
Speaking after the NPP’s national delegates conference held over the weekend, Safo revealed that she’s been dealing with a family emergency in the U.S hence her absence.
According to her, instead of her party to protect her as a woman, they are out there crucifying her and trying to take her seat and ministry away from her.
Safo claimed she protected a female MP some years back as Deputy Majority leader when that MP also had to deal with similar sensitive issues.
However, none of that same protection is being extended to her whilst she deals with her own sensitive family matter.
