The Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum has rendered an apology to all newly posted teachers who are yet to recieve their salaries after being posted for seven (7) months.
Speaking on Asaase Radio on Wednesday 27th July 2022, Dr. Adutwum promised that all newly posted teachers will soon receive their salaries.
He however apologized to all the newly posted teachers who are yet to recieve their salaries for working 7 months now without pay.
According to the minister of Education, this is unacceptable and he apologized to all newly posted teachers for the shortfall. ” Tell them I apologize to them. No one should work for seven months without being paid” he said.
According to the Minister he has directed GES to work in time to get all staff IDs of the newly posted teachers ready.
The delay in payment of the newly posted teachers is akin to the delay in their staff ID. The staff ID is a unique identification/code that any worker on government of Ghana pay toll must get before payment of salaries can begin. With that ID, they can proceed to do biometric registration for onward payment of salaries.
The staff ID for the newly posted teachers are been released in batches. First, second and third batches are in. The other batches are yet to be released.
