The Minister for Information has assured the Nation Builders Corp NABCO trainees that, they will receive all the allowance which are in arrears after the extension of their working program
Hon Kojo Oppong Nkrumah made this statement in an interview on Kesseben FM on the 13th of January 2022.
Furthermore, he clarify that the rationale for the alleged delay of their allowance was as a result of the extension of their program. He, therefore, refuted claims that indicated that the Information Minister said that he does not know when NABCO trainees will be paid their allowance in the country.
He further added that the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and the Finance Ministry are tirelessly working for the extension of the programme and therefore, they will soon give the green light for them to pay them their allowance.
“The cohort ended but we realised that not all trainees permanent employment so we decided to extend it. I know the Finance Ministry Dr Anyars and the Vice President are working on the extension so that we can pay them. Once they give the green light to pay them, we will pay them”, he explained.
It is noted that the NABCO trainees were however extended after the government of Ghana could not secure permanent employment for them despite promising them in an interview on radio BAR.
The Nation Builders Corps, also known as N.A.B.C.O, is a Ghanaian initiative to provide jobs to unemployed post-secondary school graduates (graduates of universities, training colleges, etc.) It was introduced by the government of Ghana.
This programme is a product of some of the beneficial packages crafted by the incumbent New Patriotic Party NPP in the country to address the many challenges facing the state notably the massive unemployment in the country which has been the main issue the nation is battling with for decades.
