Uncle Kofi Totobi Quakye, a stalwart of the National Democratic Congress was a household name in the early and late 90s. He is a tactful strategist who operates from the background and achieves results and is arguable the longest serving Minister for Information Ghana ever had and was head of National Security under the Jerry Rawlings-led government.
The senior statesman has the formula for winning elections and falls under the elderly category who worked assiduously together with Dr. Tony Aidoo and the Ahwoi Brothers. In a comforting and insightful piece, the party big wig left many speechless when he indicated that his services are still available to the flag bearer in the upcoming election.
In the ’emotional’ letter written, he postulated that he has been working quietly in the background and he prefers it so. Although, some of these achievements are published from time to time to encourage the younger ones who might one day replace them.
He posited that he is focused on “the victory of the NDC and John Dramani Mahama our presumptive flag bearer in our upcoming elections.”
He comes to the campaign with some 30 years of strategic political experience and would be a precious asset only if his independent ideas would be accepted and respected.
