Declare Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai MCE Confirmation As Unconstitutional – Assembly Members Sue

Reports indicated that about six 6 Assembly members from the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality have allegedly sue the Municipal Assembly for the confirmation of the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Alfred Amoah.

However, the six Assembly Members in a writ secured from Supreme Court of Ghana Today 14th December 2021, a plaintiffs among other reliefs are calling on the court to declare the October confirmation as unconstitutional.

On the 10th of October 2021, about 19 assembly members out of which 16 are known to be government appointees voted this year in order to confirmed the current MCE, Alfred Amoah. Also, a total of 52 members are made up of assembly members of Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality while 36 out of that number are elected assembly  members.
