The Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, during the mid-year budget review today, Monday, 25th July, 2022 announced a date to end the NABCO program.
According to the Finance Minister, the NABCO program will come an end on 1st September, 2022. The Announcement indeed will be a bid blow to our NABCO friends.
It will be recalled that the NABCO trainees after several public outcry were promised that they will be obsorbed at the end of the program.
Surprisingly, during that finance ministers presentation, he only announce the day to end the program without any hope of absorption for the youth.
The program has faced several challenges with sometimes trainees complaining of not receiving the allowances at the end of the month.
Severally, NABCO trainees threatened strike and demonstration before some of the allowances were paid to them.
It’ll be very sad again for the NABCO trainees to end the program on 1st September, 2022 as the Minister announced without any provision for them..
The NDC member of parliament for North Tongu, Okudzeto Ablakwa in a post just after the Minister of Finance made the announcement have urged the government to spare a little thought for our NABCO friends.
Mr Okudzeto said “Spare a thought for our NaBCo friends. Ken Ofori-Atta says the programme ends by 1st September, 2022.”
