Readers can recall how Ghanaians all over the world threw their unflinching support to the Women Under 20 team. Despite the poor training conditions, the team was expected to do the best that they can to lift the good image of the country.
It can also be recalled that the team lost to all the teams that they met including Japan Under 20 team.
The Ghana Women’s Under 20 team was expected to score the Netherlands by a difference of six goals. This would have aided the team to qualify for the next round. Interestingly, the team failed to do what they were expected to do after they lost to Japan.
Many Ghanaians have reacted to the sad news as some citizens have shown disappointment at how the resources of the State were abused. Is this actually a waste of resources? Are there not better times ahead? Would it be wrong to appreciate the team for the efforts instead of venting the spleen?
