It is emerging that no sooner had Samuel Abu Jinapor assumed the reign of power as Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, he was busily issuing and re-issuing renewed licenses for mining and prospecting when he had given an impression otherwise in his public appearances.

While convening forums pretending to tackle galamsey and other illegal forms of mining, the new Minister was doling out mining licenses without further and better particulars as MyNewsGh.com has intercepted information that whereas National Women’s Organizer of the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP) Kate Gyamfua had a gold mining concession, her mining activities went beyond legal boundaries with officials fully aware but looking the other way.

Again, despite the Minister’s public posturing, Madam Kate Gyamfua’s gold mining license was renewed mid-March after the swearing in of Minister Abu Jinapor on 6th March, 2021 all at a time he pretended to have placed an unofficial moratorium on new license, license renewal and mining in Forest reserves and around river bodies.

This is coming at a time the Otumfuo Asantehene exposed the new Minister who had convened a forum to tackle mining and galamsey under pure pretenses when he begged the Otumfuo to stick to a script they have given to him to read.

The Otumfuo in Rawlings style deviated and told them how useless the convenes forum was because they all knew who and who were engaged in mining legally and illegally on which concessions.
