The President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Akufo Addo is admonishing Ghanaians to be very careful of their lifestyle during this Christmas’s occasion further urging them to act responsibly during and after the occasion.

The President of Ghana speaking reiterated that every individual amidst the Christmas holidays where there will be visitors and mass gatherings, should adhere to the Covid 19 protocols to prevent the spread of the virus.

“We should be guided by what transpired last Christmas, where there was a sharp spike in the number of Covid infection cases and deaths in the immediate months of January and February 2021,” President Nana Addo cautioned during his 27th Nation Address on the 15th of December 2021.

Furthermore, President Nana Akufo Addo again added that it is the action and behaviour of Ghanaians that will help to end this deadly pandemic that has befallen Ghana hence, there should be a strict adherence to preventive protocols to avoid counter infections most especially the resurfacing of the New Omicron Virus of the Covid 19 in the country.

Furthermore, President Nana Akufo Addo on that matter reassured Ghanaians that, the government of Ghana are doing everything possible to make sure that there is enough vaccine to vaccinate every citizen.

He, therefore, calls on all and sundry to ensure that they take up the mantle of involving themselves in the Covid 19 rolled out vaccination exercise in the country to protect each from virus and the new Omicron variant of Covid 19.

Again, the president announces that the country expects about 26 million vaccines by the close of the year with the target of vaccinating about 20 million citizens and for that matter, everyone should avail himself or herself for the vaccination exercise as there are more vaccines underway.

The President of the Republic of Ghana made this call on Ghanaians when he was addressing the nation on Wednesday.
