
Kwesi Anin-Yeboah, the Chief Justice has grant the permission made by the Member of Parliament for Assin Central , Hon Kennedy Agyapong to retain a defamation case with a famous and popular Investigative Journalist who is in the person of Anas Aremeyaw Anas in the country.
The Member of Parliament for Assin Central constituency for the incumbent New Patriotic Party NPP, through his lawyers have written to have Justice Eric Baah brought back after Justice Gifty Addo was asked to heAr the case in the court.
Meanwhile, the Court of Appeal Judge, Justice Baah have already sat on the case as an additional high court judge.
However, a lead council for Hon Kennedy Agyapong on the 19th of October petitioned the Chief Justice to have Justice Baah retain the pretext that, Justice Gift Addo “does not have the benefit of the demeanour of the witnesses so far”.
On the 27th of October, Jutice Yeboah Anin on that note wrote to Justcie Baah to continue with the case until to its end. This have therefore, make the lawyers to the renowned Investigative Journalist surprised as they are perplexed to what has happen further adding that, there is no knowledge to it.

“On 1st December 2021 when lawyers of Anas appeared in court for business, the Court referred them to another court on grounds that the matter is no longer before the substantive judge and that the CJ has acceded to the request by Mr. Agyapong for the Eric Baah, J.A to continue to sit on the case,” they revealed.
Furthermore, the case has been adjourned to Thursday on the 16th of December in order to have the Member of Parliament for Assin Central assessed and cross examined.
A suit file in 2018 by Anas Aremeyaw sued Kennedy Agyapong for a defamation for an amount worth GH¢25 million after claiming the latter caused disaffection for him in the attacks of the Number 12 documentary.
