2022 BUDGET: Don’t Stoke Tensions In Parliament – Sam George Fires Majority Leader

Sam Nartey Geroge, the Member of parliament for Ningo Prampram have warned the Majority Leader in parliament to desist from passing unpleasant and unnecessary comment about the Speaker of Parliament and that of the parliament House.

However, the Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram speaking in an Eyewitness News, chided , Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, the Majority Leader for not engaging the parliament House as far as the impasse Fn the 2022 budget statement is concern in the country.

“This cavalier behaviour and attempt to undermine the authority of the Speaker is inimical to the image of Parliament. I would urge the Majority Leader to engage more with the Speaker and the leadership caucus, than to be making comments that will rather incite and raise the temperature of the House,” he explained.

Furthermore, Mr. Sam Nartey Geroge therefore caution the Majority Leader about his comments in the parliament that may have always increase the temperature of the House and for that matter, he should be mindful of his comments.

The Member of parliament for Ningo Prampram, Sam Nartey Geroge  made this statement after Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu intimidated the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, that he may have approved the motion filed the Minority Caucus in parliament in order to have the approved 2022 budget statement reversed while he was away on his medical check up trip to Dubai.

Additionally, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, the Majority Leader at a press conference on Wednesday, urge the Minority Caucus to drop their opposition to the 2022 budget statement read by the Finance Minister in the House from the government Economic Managements Team in the country.

However, the Minority Leader Haruna Iddrisu have also filed a motion to challenge the Deputy Speaker of parliament to have the approved 2022 budget statement reversed which was done after a boycott of the Minority Members of parliament in the country.

On that note, the Minority are of the view and perspective that, the ruling of the Deputy Speaker of parliament is biased.
